North Norfolk District Council and the New Anglia Enterprise Adviser Network are holding events for employers to meet staff from local schools and colleges to find out how they can help our young people increase their knowledge of local business and their understanding of the world of work.
At these FREE events you will be able to:
- Find out how you can get involved with local schools and colleges
- Learn about the New Anglia Enterprise Adviser network and how to become an Enterprise Adviser; offering strategic advice on employer engagement to school and college senior staff
- Network with other businesses already working with schools and colleges
- Understand the benefits of offering work experience and work place visits
- Make lasting connections with local schools and colleges

- Business Resilience Workshops

Groundwork, in partnership with a number of other organisations, are hosting a free Business Resilience Workshop available to all local business. For businesses that have experienced flood, fire or other emergency situations this workshop is invaluable. For those who haven’t, this workshop could make the difference between sustaining the business or losing a livelihood.
Businesses can find out how to prepare contingency plans and mitigate potential losses.

- The Manufacturing Growth Programme
The Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) is a £9.2m European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funded programme focused on providing support to manufacturing SMEs interested in growth.
The programme is currently looking to work with businesses in several areas of England, including Norfolk and Suffolk.
Specialist Manufacturing Growth Managers are in place to offer SMEs the opportunity to access grant funding of up to 35% towards the cost of supported projects.

- The Micro-Grant Scheme
The Micro Grant Scheme offers grants to Norfolk business of £1,000 up to £10,000 saving you 20% on your expenditure.
Tourism, accommodation and hospitality businesses can NOW apply for the funding.
- LEADER Grant Scheme
Are you a small business or small group/charity based in the North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) area? Do you need financial help with a capital project aimed at improving your business /offer and/or creating or sustaining jobs?
If so, you may be eligible for a LEADER grant of up to 40% of the eligible cost – 100% for some community projects. LEADER grants, typically of between £20,000 and £80,000 but could be more or less, are approved by Local Action Groups of which two, together having about £3m to allocate in the next two years, cover the NNDC area
The overarching aims of the programme are to:
- Contribute towards improving the environment and the quality of life in rural areas
- Strengthen the rural economy by helping micro and small businesses to create and sustain employment within the area
- Improve competitiveness, particularly in the agriculture and forestry sectors

- Coffee Means Business
These monthly North Norfolk business networking events are going from strength to strength, with a wide range of trades and services represented. If you know of someone who is thinking of starting up a small business, however small then do let them know of this three-hour workshop.
This is a great place to gain ideas and there are further workshops available after this one which will support the business in its early stages .
